My Research Interests:
- Survey of economic values and resource of freshwater and marine animals.
- Investigate fishing gear and fishing effort.
- Investigate aquaculture and capture production and provide guidance for aquatic resource management based on maximum sustainable yield level and some predictive models.
- Study stock assessment and stock enhancement (e.g. fish restocking, establishing protected areas, etc.), and population dynamics (e.g. growth, mortality, migration, etc.).
Functions of Research Institute for Aquaculture No.3 ( RIA3):
- Survey aquatic environment, inland and coastal natural resources. Assess the impacts of aquaculture to surrounding environment; establish a prediction and warning network for environment and aquatic disease prevention in Central regions.
- Research and apply national and advanced techniques for aquaculture, exploitation, conservation (e.g. stock enhancement).
- Collect and conserve native species and introduced species, generate economically valuable hybrids.
- Study live food production of brackish and marine micro algae and seaweed for aquatic animals
- Study post harvest, formulated feeds, and food processing from freshwater and marine products for domestic and export demands.
- Test the quality of seed, and feasibility of using feeds, and bio-products in aquaculture.
- Clarify appropriate fishing gear and apply modern fishing technologies with the aim of sustainable fisheries development.
- Provide guidance on technical, economic and environmental aspects to managers and aquaculturists.
- Apply ISO in management, commercial production, grow-out and research.
- Transfer techniques to farmers via workshops and training courses.
- Cooperate in national and international research and training.
- Educate post-graduate students and technical personnel.
- Publish research journals in terms of fisheries and aquaculture.
